CALEA Accreditation Public Portal

The Town of DeWitt Police Department is scheduled for a site-based assessment November 6-8, 2023 as part of a program to achieve re-accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

Access to the CALEA standards can be obtained by contacting the main line of the police department at 315-449-3640 during normal business hours for further information.

As part of the assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments via a public access portal located posted at: CALEA Public Access Portal. The link to the public portal can also be found on the police department’s website at https://www.townofdewittpolice.com
